Werner removed from Leipzig’s UCL squad

Timo Werner is expected to finalise his move to Chelsea this week, as we reported earlier.

The Telegraph add that the striker has told Leipzig to remove him from their Champions League squad – with the club in the quarter-finals – as he wants to join Chelsea as soon as possible.

No move will be completed before the end of the domestic season, scheduled for end of July, but with the Champions League not expected to be completed until August, Werner wants to remove himself from European selection.

Chelsea and Arsenal are battling to sign Southampton goalkeeper Fraser Forster, according to Football Insider.

The 32-year-old has spent the season on loan at Celtic, who are keen on signing him permanently.

With Forster facing an uncertain future on the south coast, Arsenal and Chelsea are reportedly looking at a possible cut-price move.
