Kai Havertz to earn £130,000-a-week at Chelsea, deal almost done
Germany international Kai Havertz is reportedly set to put pen to paper on a £130,000-a-week deal at Chelsea ahead of his proposed move from Bayer Leverkusen.
The highly-rated attacker is allegedly on the brink of completing his switch from the Bundesliga to Stamford Bridge in a deal worth up to £90m.
The 21-year-old will link up with fellow new arrivals Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner ahead of the 2020-21 campaign, and Havertz can reportedly look forward to pocketing a lucrative salary on the blue side of London.
According to the Daily Mail, Havertz is set to agree a five-year deal worth £130,000 per week at Stamford Bridge, and his wage will go up if he meets various performance-related targets.
The Blues are also believed to be closing in on a deal for former Paris Saint-Germain captain Thiago Silva, while Leicester City left-back Ben Chilwell is supposedly inching closer towards a move to Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea Transfer News: Chelsea considering move for Lille goalkeeper Mike Maignan
Lille goalkeeper Mike Maignan has reportedly emerged as a potential transfer target for Chelsea.
After the disappointing form of Kepa Arrizabalaga, manager Frank Lampard is eager to bring in a new stopper during the summer transfer window.
At a time when a wide range of names have been linked with a switch to Stamford Bridge, Sky Sports News claims that Chelsea are now considering a bid for Maignan.
The 25-year-old has established himself as first choice at Lille, making 123 appearances in all competitions since joining from Paris Saint-Germain in 2015.
While the report claims that Chelsea hold an interest in the player, no official bid has been made for the Frenchman.
Lille will allegedly demand £27m if the Premier League giants make formal contact over the coming weeks.
Chelsea Transfer News: Chelsea considering Malang Sarr as part of defence option
Chelsea are considering a deal for free agent Malang Sarr as they close in on Thiago Silva.
The Blues are also set to sign Kai Havertz and Ben Chilwell after striking deals with their respective clubs. Now Frank Lampard is fully focused on his defence and the Chelsea manager has been offered Sarr, according to Lampard.
The back line is one of the final pieces of the Chelsea puzzle this summer, with a goalkeeper also one of the last remaining targets on Lampard’s wishlist.
Sarr would like a move to Stamford Bridge but is also weighing up other bids. The Chelsea board will now decide whether to bring Sarr in.
